Taylor Cothran CPA, ABV
Forensic Accounting and Business Valuation Support
As an Associate joining the firm in 2015, Taylor provides support on forensic accounting engagements and business valuations. Prior to joining Cogence Group, Taylor was an Auditor at Ernst & Young, LLP in Portland, Oregon. During her time at EY, Taylor performed financial statement audits over clients in various industries, including real estate, timber, grain commodities, energy, and manufacturing. She also served as her office’s Community Engagement Champion, organizing and leading multiple volunteer events throughout the year.
Taylor graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from the University of Portland in 2013. While in college, Taylor was Co-President of the University of Portland Accounting Association (UPAA), a group which has hosted Cogence Group Principal Jay Sickler as a speaker. Jay’s presentation to UPAA is what initially sparked Taylor’s interest in the field of financial forensics. After completing her Bachelor’s degree, Taylor began studying for the CPA exams and became an officially licensed Certified Public Accountant in August 2015. She obtained her ABV (Accredited in Business Valuation) credential in September 2017, and has testified as an expert witness in an arbitration setting.
In her free time, Taylor enjoys exploring Portland, traveling to beautiful places, trying out new recipes at home, and continuing her studies of the Japanese language.
